‘For nations will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.”

Matthew 27: 7

“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”

Matthew 24: 12

Without a doubt, we are seeing a pandemic of lawlessness. Many great cities that were safe to visit have now become dangerous. As you watch on the news you see major cities plagued with crime and lawlessness. What makes it worse is the lack of leadership or even concern to deal with it.

Paul wrote:

“For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.”

2 Thessalonians 2: 7

In other words, he explained that even back in his days the mystery of lawlessness was at work. He then called the antichrist the lawlessness one. As we draw closer to the time of the revealing of the antichrist, we will see an increase in lawlessness. This mystery of lawlessness is tied to the antichrist. So, hidden behind what is really causing this lawlessness is the system that will bring in the antichrist.

When we look at Marxism, it is built upon lawlessness. Marx believed that all laws were the product of human will, and to be specific it was the arbitrary will of the ruling social class. So, laws oppressed people and to see equality would require the replacement of human law. We must remember that God is the Lawgiver and everything in Creation is governed by laws. When we look at the consequences of Marxism, it resulted in bloodbaths, governmental oppression, and increased poverty. While they claimed they sought equality, in reality, the ruling elites operated with absolute power, and all rights of individuals were robbed of them.

Why would people fall for such a lie? Herein we see the mystery. By presenting the message that you are the victim, and all authorities are oppressors, you provoke lawlessness. But behind the narrative causing the lawlessness are a group of elites who gain greater control.

This is where we start to see the current increase in lawlessness, and the connection between the increase in racial tensions and wars. Marxism is primarily a social, political, and economic theory that seeks to interpret history through evolution. As explained, laws are the instruments that cause oppression and will disappear when we reach the final stage of evolution.

Yet, everything is governed by laws with consequences for violating these laws. However, humans hate laws.

When we flip the narrative, we see how the Lord longs to dwell with man, but our sin stands in the way. Look at this:

“But you shall seek the place where the Lord your God chooses, out of all your tribes, to put His Name for His dwelling place; and there you shall go. There you shall take your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, your vowed offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks. And there you shall eat before the Lord your God, and you shall rejoice in all to which you have put your hand, you and your households, in which the Lord your God blesses you. You shall not at all do as you are doing here today- every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes- for as yet you have not come to the rest and the inheritance which the Lord your God is giving you.”

Deuteronomy 12: 5-9

Notice the statement the Lord made: “You shall not at all do as you are doing here today- every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes- for as yet you have not come to the rest and the inheritance which the Lord your God is giving you.”

We walk convinced that we know what is right and that we don’t have to listen to the Lord. In previous generations, there was a greater honor of the Lord and Christianity, but as the voice of the Church is being silenced, her influence is being denied. Remember Jesus explained in the light of persecution:

“You are the salt of the earth: but if salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.”

Matthew 5: 13- 16

So, we are to be a light pointing to the truth, especially in a dark hour. While the enemy seeks to lie to people, we show them the truth lifting people from walking by the earthly to walking by the order of Heaven. His ways are perfect and produce life. This is where people miss it. Noah Harari said:

The Bible peddled a monotheistic theory of history, claiming that the world is governed by a single all-powerful deity, who cares above all else about me and my doings. If something good happens, it must be a reward for my good deeds. Any catastrophe must surely be punishment for my sins. (Harari, Yuval Noah. Homo Deus (A Brief History) (p. 172). HarperCollins. Kindle Edition.)

In the Garden the enemy deceived Eve by claiming God was denying her rights and that if she ate the forbidden fruit she would actually know what was good and what was evil. The devil’s strategy remains the same, accusing God of denying people of things, and that he will show us what is truly good and evil.

What the Lord wants us to understand is that the wages of sin are death. He is the source of all life and only He brings true satisfaction for the deep longer of our hearts. Sin separates us from Him. His laws are not evil, but rather for our good. Before the Fall, man enjoyed the best of everything but when they bought the lie of the devil that they were being denied so rebelled, resulting in death.

Right there in the Garden, the Lord God declared to the enemy:

“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between YOUR SEED and HER SEED; He shall bruise your head, and you shall strike His heel.”

Genesis 3: 15

The enemy’s seed is the antichrist and her Seed, was Jesus the Messiah. Jesus overcame and demonstrated perfect love through obedience, while the antichrist will walk in absolute hate and reign in lawlessness.

So, the coming forth of the antichrist is in lawlessness and in deceiving the people and convincing them that they are the victims, being denied by God.
