“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John 4: 23, 24
Jesus came to lift us up from the natural order and natural worship to walk and worship by a new order. If we are to truly worship the Father, we must worship Him in Spirit and truth. Smith Wigglesworth said:
“Oh, that smile of divine communication which is true of God, where we speak to Him in Spirit, and where the Spirit lifts and lifts and lifts and takes us in. Oh, beloved, there is a place of God where God can bring us in, and I pray that God by His Spirit, may move us so we will strive to be where Enoch was as he walked with God.”
He longs to bring us to a place through His blood where we meet with Him. It is a place of translation and transformation. It is a place where we see who we truly are in Him as we see Him and know Him.
Smith explained:
“It was in the mind of God, translation. But remember translation comes on the line of holy obedience and walk with pleasure with a perfectness of God. Walking together with God in the Spirit. Some others have had touches of it. It is lovely, it is delightful to think about these moments as we have walked with God and had communion with Him, where are words were lifted, and we were not made to make them, but God made them.”
It is a place of an open heaven. It is where we stand in a refreshing rain and experience the wind of the Spirit blowing. It is a call to touch the Almighty and be forever changed. Here, the Word is opened, and we see the treasury of Heaven.
“But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
1 Corinthians 2: 9
Yes, I hear you say this belongs to one day in the glorious by and by. But let’s read on:
“But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, the deep things of God.”
1 Corinthians 2: 10
As we come into the Secret Place of His Presence and surrender all, we are lifted and given eyes to see. It is a heart-to-heart encounter, a rapture.
Smith explained:
“As Paul divinely puts it by the Spirit, I don’t believe that any person in this place hasn’t an open door into everything that is in Scriptures. I believe the Scriptures are for us. And in order that we may apply our hearts to understand the truth I say, Oh, for an inroad of the mighty revolution of the human heart to break it so that God can plan afresh and make all within us say, Amen! What a blessed experience it is truly.”
We now live a new life of value and precious purpose. It is a life of worship. For we delight to do His will, and we see the worst persecution as an opportunity to reveal His heart and intercede.
Paul would have a divine appointment in the Secret Place of the Lord’s Presence on the road to Damascus. He recorded that event:
“I Am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,”
Acts 26: 15
All of Paul’s life, he sought with holy zeal to serve the Great I Am, and now he found himself broken before Him. The Lord continued and said:
“But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentile, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.”
Acts 26: 16-8
When we encounter Him, we walk away with a fresh purpose as He blesses us and imparts life to us. Oh, the joy of bearing fruit and knowing you are impacting this generation. Here as He gives the vision, His Spirit imparts faith to us, that we might ask in faith and receive. Smith said of the above verses:
“And then I noticed in that order of the Spirit, he walked in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, which is a wonderful comfort. Oh, tell me if you can, is there anything to compare to that which Jesus said when He comes ‘…He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance…’ Surely this is a Comforter. Surely He is the Comforter who can bring to our memory, to our mind, all the thing that He said.”
The Holy Spirit calls us to come aside in the Secret Place that He may bring all the words of Jesus as now Words, filled with life and faith. He brings freshness and clarity. With Him, all the promises are NOW promises, and they are yes and amen. The Holy Spirit reveals they are for us, NOW!
As we receive His assignment and move forward, He transforms us. Smith said:
“And I say that Paul was moved upon by this power, and yet Jesus said unto him, ‘As you go you will be changed, and in the changing I will take you from revelation to revelation, open door to open door and the accomplishment will be as My faith is committed unto thee.”
This holy communion lifts us off the earth s that we might take our place seated with Him in the Heavenly places. If we are to pray and see results, we must get off the earth. Too many believers never get off the earth when they pray and never truly receive all He has for us.
Smith explained:
“And then with my faith- oh, thank God for the faith. I began to penetrate the heavens, and I was soon out of that house I will tell you, for I never saw a man get anything from God who prayed on the earth, If you get anything from God you will have to pray into Heaven for it is all there, If you are living on the earth and expect things from Heaven it will never come. If you want to touch the ideal you must live in ideal principles.”
“But if any man lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
James 1: 5
Here we see the wondrous heart of the Father and how He loves to give abundantly. In this life we experience difficult seasons and we must learn how to deal with them as a Secret Place dweller. He said:
“Ah yes, the bitterness may come at night, but joy will come in the morning. Hallelujah! So many believers never look up. Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, ‘Father, I thank thee that thou has heard me. He cried with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come forth.’ Beloved, God wants us to have some resurrection touch about us.”
Such a cry comes from knowing Him and being found in Him. It is a cry of the Spirit spoken through a yielded vessel. It is so often in the nights of mourning that we learn to surrender. Let us yield and yield until the morning breaks and joy comes forth.
Smith said:
“Who wants anything from God? He can satisfy every need. He satisfieth the hungry with good things. I believe a real weeping would be good for us. You are in a poor wany if you cannot weep. I do thank God for my tears. They help me so that I do like to weep in the Presence of God. I ask you in the Name of Jesus, will you cast all your care upon Him? ‘For He careth for you.’ I am in great need this morning; I do want an overflow. Come one, beloved, let us weep together. God will help us. Glory to God. How He meets the need of the hungry.”
