Hallelujah we need a fresh revelation of the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus told us that out of our innermost being would flow rivers of living water! Now think about this…

“And the Lord will continually guide you and satisfy your desire in you; and you will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of waters whose waters scorched places, and give you strength to your bones; and you will be like a watered garden, and like a spring whose waters do not fail. Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will raise up the age-old foundations; and you will be called the restorer of the breach, the restorer of the streets in which to dwell.”

Isaiah 58: 11, 12

Oh, may those words sink deep and pierce your heart today.  Maybe you are going through it right now, but the Lord is about to move on the earth. You are called to live in this hour and equipped to reach this generation. As you look around it may appear that you are in a wilderness or a cold winter. But get ready for the Lord is about to move and when He does everything changes.

Listen to these words of Smith Wigglesworth…

“The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is for the death of the seed. The Holy Spirit wakes up every passion, permits every trial. His object is to make the vessel pure. All must die before a manifestation of God unthought of, undreamed of. It’s a call to martyrdom, to the death of spirit, soul and body. To the death. The choice is before you, decide, accept, the path of death to life. Absolute abandonment for a divine equipment for the early and latter rain appears.”

Every one of us must come to a place of a divine “no.” A place where a line is finally drawn in the sand and you tell the enemy no more. You lay hold of the Word and decide it is real and you will no longer just be a hearer, but a doer of the Word. The Lord came to destroy the works of the enemy and we as His voice and representatives on the earth are to continue to carry out His will on the earth.

The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy. Jesus came that we might have life and that abundant. We are to preach that message. Lot preached to Sodom and Gomorrah and all they did was get angry at him. His preaching was of no effect. Yet Jesus, in Matthew chapter eleven verses twenty one and twenty-three stated that had they seen the miracles and power demonstrated in the ministry of Jesus, they would have repented. Think about that! There are two types of witness. What was the difference between the ministry of Lot and Jesus? Jesus was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Today, are we on fire or fireproof! We need a true baptism with the Holy Spirit and fire. But we must realize that all too often the Holy Spirit drives us into the wilderness. It is a place of death. A place where He seeks to crucify our flesh and the old man.

Someone asked Smith Wigglesworth what was the secret of his power and he answered:

“In a broken voice, and with tears slowly trickling down his face, he replied:

I am sorry you asked me that questions, but I will answer it. I am a broken-man. My wife, who meant everything to me, died eleven years ago. After the funeral, I went back and lay on her grave. I wanted to die there. But God spoke to me and told me to rise up and come away. I told him if he would give me a double portion of the Spirit- my wife’s and my own- I would go and preach the Gospel. God was gracious to me and answered my request. But I sail the high seas alone. I am a lonely man, and many a time all I can do is to weep and weep.”

You may be on the shelf and feel like, “Lord what is going on?” But the Lord is working and making us. Listen to more words by Smith Wigglesworth…

“Beloved, if you read the Scripture you will never find anything about the easy times. All the glories come out of the hard times. And if you are really reconstructed it will be in a hard time, it won’t be in a singing meeting, but at a time when you think all things are dried up, when you think there is no hope for you, and you have passed everything, then that is the time that God makes the man, when tried by fire, that God purges you, takes the dross away, and brings forth the pure gold. Only melted gold is minted. Only moistened clay receives the mold. Only softened wax receives the seal. Only broken, contrite hearts receive the mark, as the Potter turns us on His wheel, shaped and burnt to take and keep the heavenly mold, the stamp of God’s pure gold.”

And now more importantly listen to the Word…

“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but nor forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;”

2 Corinthians 4: 8, 9

I don’t think we can imagine fully all Paul went through and suffered. But listen to this…

“Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart…but we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves.”

2 Corinthians 4: 1, 7

Did you hear that! They did not loose heart because they had received mercy. But look even closer, “We have this ministry, as we received mercy.” The gift (ministry) of the Father which is without repentance was given because of His mercy and not because you were qualified to receive it. It is time to turn it around on the devil. Paul explained that they did not look at what they saw! We need to fix our eyes on Jesus and His promises. We go through the wilderness and the winters, they DO NOT GO THROUGH US!

“For all things are for your sakes, so that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God!”

2 Corinthians

What He is doing behind the scenes is bigger than we can imagine. TOO much is at stake! The devil also knows that and seeks to stop or hinder it. He tried to kill Moses and Jesus while they were yet babies. Why? He was terrified of what they would do. Glory to God, the devil should be terrified the minute you wake up! He is doing everything to discourage and stop you. Turn it around and realize if he is trying so hard to stop me, then the Lord God has something really great and bigger than I can imagine in store for me. And even more than that what the Lord wants to do is beyond me and my little world! He wants to change the world around.

“For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal bodies.”

2 Corinthians 4: 11

Paul stated regarding his witness…

“I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and power.”

1 Corinthians 2: 3, 4

We look at ourselves and our weaknesses and we focus in on them. The reality is, it is not about you. We need the Holy Spirit pouring in and through these frail earthen vessels. For too long we have done it in our weak ability and like Lot all we see is people getting mad and not interested. It is time to come to a place where we are fully surrendered vessels to the Holy Spirit so that He can work through us demonstrating His mighty power! What the world needs to see is the Lord moving in power and not us. The secret to walking with power is found in the wilderness and cold winters. Where we fix our eyes on Jesus, surrender ourselves to Him and allow Him to make us. When He brings us out, we are vessels of power that glorify Him.

Revivals too often begin in the winters of our life where a holy desperation arises and a hunger. We determine that we have had enough of the devil and we want to get real with the Lord. We go after Him and His presence with everything we have.

“For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves.”

2 Corinthians 4: 6, 7
